Despite what a PGA rep said a week ago, all Ryder Cup merch in the gift shop is being discounted 50 percent. Before the tournament started, Mark Quirk, senior director of merchandising at PGA America, said that what was left over after the tourney would be donated to charity, as was the tradition.
Quirk was not available to comment to explain the change but did report that this Ryder Cup had the largest sales in Ryder Cup history. Reps were not able to confirm the number of hats, balls, jackets, polos and memorabilia remaining to be sold.
The shop at 720 Pioneer Trail in Chaska is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. No ticket is required and parking is free at gate C1, next to the shop.
