Boats in storage for the winter sustained severe damage in a fire Friday at River Heights Marina, on the Mississippi River at 4455 E. 66th St. in Inver Grove Heights.
No one was hurt and the business was not evacuated, said Melissa Harms, manager at the marina.
The fire started about 1 p.m. and was put out by the Inver Grove Heights Fire Department.
Harms said she did not know what started the fire and did not yet have an estimate of damage. She estimated that five to six boats were involved.
The marina is 9 miles south of downtown St. Paul. It offers 97 slips at mile marker 830 on the river.
