While they continue to work on getting reluctant DeMarcus Cousins in for a workout and have pretty much given up on seeing Evan Turner here, the Timberwolves on Thursday morning worked out a willing Derrick Favors at Target Center even though the Georgia Tech freshman forward likely will be long gone if they draft fourth come next Thursday.
Favors is impressive physically and athletically, but Kurt Rambis turned to David Kahn not long into the solo workout and commented that he's out of shape.
Favors, who could go as early as No. 2 to Philadelphia, said he's working out for Top 5 teams just to keep his -- and the teams -- options open.
It'll be interesting to see how today's trade between the Sixers and Sacramento might affect draft night. Philly's sending center Samuel Dalembert to the Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes. Might that mean the Sixers are leaning toward adding Favors to their frontcourt rather than draft Turner No. 2 overall.
That also would kill those rumors that the Wolves were going to send Big Al and the No. 4 pick to Philly for No. 2 and Dalembert, a deal that seems far too high a price for the Wolves to me.
Kansas guard Xavier Henry pulled out of tomorrow's guard workout at Target Center. Oklahoma State's James Anderson, Cincinnati's Lance Stephenson, Xavier's Jordan Crawford and Mississippi's Terrico White are still scheduled to be there.
