Curious holiday

Neither Curious George nor the Man With the Yellow Hat can decide what gift would be perfect to exchange in the new animated PBS special "A Very Monkey Christmas" (8 a.m. and 3 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2).

An heiress, a genius

Hannah Rothschild directed the documentary "The Jazz Baroness" (7 p.m., HBO2), the story of the 28-year relationship between her great-aunt Pannonica (Nica) Rothschild and jazz pioneer Thelonious Monk. The voice of Oscar winner Helen Mirren is featured.

The music lives

"The Beatles on Record" (9 p.m., History) follows the creative process in the band's studio recording sessions. Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon and Ringo Starr are narrators for the documentary.
