Snap! Crackle! Pop!

Melissa Lee, who reported on the adult-film industry in July, now tackles the mysterious, underground, taboo world of ... soda pop. "Coca-Cola: The Real Story Behind the Real Thing" (8 p.m., CNBC) may not have the fizz of the previous documentary, but it provides a sweet, cool taste of what it takes to become one of the world's iconic items. The special's best attribute: It's caffeine-free!

Leavin' on a jet plane

I usually stop giving a hoot about the "Real World" participants the minute they walk out the door, if not before. In the case of Ryan Conklin, I'll make an exception. The Brooklyn cast member left to serve in Iraq after his season -- and he was accompanied by cameras. The result of his second tour is "Return to Duty" (8 p.m., MTV).

Country comforts

Who's attending "The 43rd Annual CMA Awards" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5)? The better question might be: Who isn't? Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Daughtry, Rascal Flatts and Reba McEntire are among the stars gracing the stage. Rocker Dave Matthews crashes the party to jam with Kenny Chesney.
