Selling religionBurt Lancaster and Shirley Jones received Oscars for their performances in the 1960 movie "Elmer Gantry" (8 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), about an evangelist who takes up with a salesman in a scheme to sell religion in the 1920s.
Seeking revengeThe 1959 movie epic "Ben Hur" (7 p.m., TCM) is the story of a Jewish prince who is betrayed by a friend, the commanding officer of the Roman legions in Jerusalem, and the struggle to regain his freedom from slavery. Charlton Heston received an Oscar for his acting in the title role.
