You'll feel good

I had the good fortune to see James Brown perform late in his career, but his stamina and skills were a pale imitation of him in his prime, a period well represented in "Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown." The documentary, co-produced by Mick Jagger, combines staggering footage and candid interviews by former bandmates that provide a fair portrayal of the Godfather of Soul. I certainly wouldn't have minded another hour that explored Brown's up-and-down period in the '80s. Sequel, Mick? 8 p.m. Monday, HBO

Detective Tyson

Scooby-Doo has nothing on the former heavyweight champion of the world. "Mike Tyson Mysteries" gives us an animated version of the boxer as he solves crimes with the help of the ghost of the marquess of Queensberry and a talking pigeon. Norm Macdonald and Jim Rash are among the guest voices. 9:30 p.m. Adult Swim

Don't mess with Texas

"The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" hits the road for a week's worth of episodes from Austin, Texas, which producers are calling "Democalypse 2014: South by South Mess," a clever nod to the city's annual music festival. "Daily" may not be getting as much attention these days as "Last Week Tonight" or "The Colbert Report," but it's still delivering stinging, smart commentary on a regular basis. 10 p.m. Comedy CentralNeal Justin
