Gordon Ramsay checks into Las Cruces, N.M., to revamp the Meson de Mesilla Hotel & Restaurant in the season premiere of “Hotel Hell.”

Checking in

After he gets done shouting at contestants on “MasterChef,” Gordon Ramsay will rip into B&B operators on “Hotel Hell,” which kicks off its second season. In the first episode, Ramsay travels to New Mexico, where the owner is more interested in singing than managing his property. Bet he does a killer version of “Hotel California.” 8 p.m. KMSP, Ch. 9

Terrorists or mistreated?

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) is among those interviewed for “The Newburgh Sting,” a look at the 2009 case in which four men were apprehended for an alleged terrorist plot. Was a great tragedy averted or were the men framed? The documentary uses never before publicly released video from the FBI to explore the case. 8 p.m. HBO

Howdy, pardners!

Three families that run rival outfitting businesses in rural Idaho are followed in “Way Out West,” a new reality-based series that sounds like a plea for city slickers to go buy some cowboy boots. In the first episode, two clans try to work together, but clashing styles could lead to a showdown at the OK Corral. 9 p.m. TruTV
