What do we do now?

Anyone who follows politics owes it to themselves to watch (or re-watch) 1972’s “The Candidate,” an insightful look at how even the best intentions can be marred by ambition. Robert Redford gives one of his classic understated performances. 7 p.m. Esquire TV

Sweeter than Honey

A writer recently was at a taping of “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” and captured what producers edited out: Honey Boo Boo acting like a brat. No surprise there. Hollywood has paid her too much attention and if you watch all two hours of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” then you’re part of the problem. 7 p.m. TLC

Pure satisfaction

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are still going strong, but there’s nothing like seeing them at their creative peak. “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones” captures the band performing gritty hits like “Rip This Joint” and “Happy” during their 1972 tour of North America. 9 p.m. VH1 Classic
