The long goodbye

The last time we left Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the dude was in pretty bad shape — and we’re not talking about a bottle of cologne going bad. “Mad Men” returns with some California dreamin’ and the continued rise of Peggy Olson. Just remember: The nostalgia trip is nearing an end with seven new episodes this year and the final seven in 2015. 9 p.m. Sunday, AMC

Monster mash

Eminem and Rihanna provide a sneak peek of their upcoming tour with a performance during “The 2014 MTV Movie Awards.” Other highlights include a battle for Best Fight and the bestowing of a Lifetime Achievement Award to host Conan O’Brien’s hair. 8 p.m. Sunday, MTV.

Trading places

Jessica Alba, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are among the actors playing journalists in “Years of Living Dangerously,” a documentary series exploring the effects of climate change. As part of the deal, the cast of the next “Oceans” movie will be filled by the Star Tribune editorial board. 9 p.m. Sunday, Showtime

Long ball

No ordinary documentary will do for one of golf’s greatest figures. “Arnie,” an in-depth look at Arnold Palmer, will stretch out over three consecutive nights, providing ample time to examine his impact on sports marketing, go-for-broke style and the delicious blend of iced tea and lemonade. 9 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, Golf Channel
