Puppet love

Jeff Dunham, who has already conquered the world of ventriloquism, hopes to do the same in cartoon land. “Achmed Saves America” finds Dunham’s most popular character, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, falling in love with America, even as he tries to destroy it. 9 p.m. Friday, CMT

Sweet home Chicago

In “Hannibal Buress Live From Chicago,” the fast-rising comic returns to his hometown for routines on New Orleans’ second-line parades, fistfights in London and late-night adventures on the road. An extended, uncensored version will be available for purchase Monday at ccdirect.comedycentral.com. 11 p.m. Saturday, Comedy Central

Life after death

Fans are just now recovering from the murder of Josh Charles’ Will Gardner on “The Good Wife.” Kudos to the writers and cast for delivering a shock that reminded us just how much we adored the character, but can the show move forward without its moral compass? This weekend’s episode will be the first test. 8 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4.

Open for business

Few actors wear smugness as snugly as Jeremy Piven, making him the perfect actor to embody “Mr. Selfridge,” which returns for a second season. A department-store magnate from yesteryear may not be the most natural subject for a series, but Piven and the writers make it work, at least well enough to sustain us until another round of “Downton Abbey.” 8 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2
