Jimmy Kimmel recently had Toronto Mayor Rob Ford as a guest on his late-night show.

Eyes on the Prinze

Kathy Reichs, author of 17 novels that inspired the long-running series “Bones,” comes to the Wild Rumpus bookstore on Wednesday (read an interview with her on page E1), so it’s a good time to catch a new episode of the show, one featuring the return of Freddie Prinze Jr., better known these days as Mr. Sarah Michelle Gellar. 7 p.m. KMSP, Ch. 9

Do you believe in magic?

A wrongly imprisoned man comes to the rescue of a girl with mysterious powers in “Believe,” a new drama that sounds an awful lot like Fox’s “Touch,” the Kiefer Sutherland vehicle that few people wanted to put their hands on. Let’s see if this effort has a bit more magic. 9:01 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11

Deep in the heart of Texas

A lot of attention has been given to Jimmy Fallon these days, but his chief rival is keeping his name in the headlines with a highly rated Oscar special and a rollicking interview with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” hopes to continue its hot streak with a week of shows from the South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas. Willie Nelson and Gov. Rick Perry are among the scheduled guests. 11 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5
