What’s it all about?

Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais’ favorite punching bag, returns to teaching his unique brand of philosophy in “The Moaning of Life” (9 p.m. Saturday, Science), an adventure series in which Pilkington tries to unravel life’s biggest mysteries.

Comedy spotlight

Dave Chappelle has no plans to return to TV, but you’ve got a chance to check out his old writing partner in “Neal Brennan: Women and Black Dudes” (11 p.m. Saturday, Comedy), a one-hour stand-up special taped in New Orleans.

Resilient Rhoda

On paper, Lauren Holly is the star of “The Town That Came A-Courtin’ ” (6 p.m. Sunday, UP), a romantic movie about finding love in a small town. But the real draw here is the inspiring Valerie Harper, who seems to get a standing ovation these days wherever she goes.
