TV picks for Jan. 10-12:  "Enlisted," "Treehouse Masters," "Girls," "Episodes"

They're in the Army now

Three bickering brothers conjure up a fair amount of laughs in "Enlisted" (8:30 p.m. Friday, KMSP, Ch. 9), a new sitcom set on an Army post in Florida. It's no "M*A*S*H," but there are worse ways to kill a half hour on a weekend night. Keith David has a ball doing his impression of Louis Gossett Jr.

Back-yard digs

Tree whisperer Pete Nelson kicks off the second season of "Treehouse Masters" (9 p.m. Friday, Animal Planet) by building an abode for a Pennsylvania family obsessed with the Indiana Jones movies. That means lots of trap doors, rope bridges, secret entrances and a testy Shia LaBeouf in the oak tree next door.

The trouble with girls

Lena Dunham continues to find ways to humiliate her characters in the third season of "Girls" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO), a hit-and-miss series that is admirable, but rarely hilarious. One exception: An LOL smackdown of Hannah and Adam by guest star Amy Schumer.

How you doin'?

Matt LeBlanc's parody of himself gets darker and more disturbing in a new season of "Episodes" (9:30 p.m. Sunday, Showtime), a series that all too successfully exposes what's wrong with the TV business. Special props to Kathleen Rose Perkins, an actress who goes the extra mile to mine laughs. She's one to keep an eye on.
