Kristen Wiig and Tobey Maguire in “The Spoils of Babylon.”

Sunday

“The Good Wife” (8 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4) returns — and the short break did nothing to cool tempers. Alicia (Julianna Margulies) represents a rock band, and across the aisle is none other than her former lover/law partner, Will (Josh Charles). Something tells me that a settlement is out of the question.

Monday

Alec Baldwin may have lost his hosting gig at MSNBC, but the door apparently is still open at TCM, where he will grill the channel’s longtime public face in “Private Screenings: Robert Osborne” (7 p.m., TCM). It may sound like a self-congratulatory pat on the back, but Osborne has led a rich life, and he’s a top-notch storyteller.

Tuesday

Gabrielle Union lost out to Kerry Washington for the lead role in “Scandal,” but she has landed on her feet with the series “Being Mary Jane” (9 p.m., BET), a new drama about a cable news anchor with oodles of success at work, but little luck when it comes to raising a family of her own.

Wednesday

Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings take a break from delivering groaners on “2 Broke Girls” to host “The 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards” (8 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4), the bottom-feeder of all awards shows. Among the hodgepodge of categories: Best TV Gal Pals, Best Music Fan Following and Best Streaming Series.

Thursday

Those who remember epic miniseries such as “The Thorn Birds” and “Shogun” are bound to get a chuckle out of “The Spoils of Babylon” (9 p.m., IFC), in which Tobey Maguire and Kristen Wiig play lovers who just happen to be brother and sister. Tim Robbins, Jessica Alba and Val Kilmer are along for the ride, as is Will Ferrell, playing the shah of Iran.
