The return of the Target Lady

Kristen Wiig, one of the top five performers in the history of "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11), returns for hosting duties. By the curtain call, you'll be joining me in my campaign to secure Wiig and Will Ferrell to take over the 2014 Oscars.

Mommie undearest

It may be Mother's Day weekend, but there are no flowers for mothers-in-law — at least not in "Evil-in-Law" (8 p.m. Sunday, Investigation Discovery), a new special about husbands with some serious mommy issues.

Scenes from a mall

Minnesota plays a role in "10 Buildings That Changed America" (9 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2), but not in the way you might think. According to filmmakers, Edina's Southdale Center, built in 1956, is as important as Thomas Jefferson's Virginia State Capitol and Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House. And no, it's not because of the food court.

Tree of life

Christopher Guest ("Best in Show") brings his documentary-style brand of comedy to the small screen in "Family Tree" (9:30 p.m. Sunday, HBO), starring Chris O'Dowd as an Englishman who becomes drawn to exploring his family's history. It's a sweet show, but has no big laughs in the first four episodes. That may change when the action switches to America and O'Dowd gets a chance to interact with Guest regulars Fred Willard and Bob Balaban.
