The Simpsons replace their old couch with a new one in the all-new “Pulpit Friction” episode of “The Simpsons.”

A senator walks into a bar

Conan O’Brien returns to host the star-studded “White House Correspondents’ Dinner” (8 p.m. Saturday, CNN), that annual event that gives up ’n’ coming comic Barack Obama a chance to try out new material.

Rev it up

“The Simpsons” (7 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9) is one of the few network series to dare to address religious issues, so it should be interesting to see what happens when Homer falls under the spell of a trendy new pastor, voiced by Edward Norton.

How sweet it is

On “Cupcake Wars” (7 p.m. Sunday, Food), the bakers are asked to cater a birthday party for Tiffani Thiessen. Look for Mr. Belding to try to sneak into the festivities dressed as a giant Twinkie.
