Sunday

“The Big C” (9 p.m., Showtime), TV’s most underappreciated series, says goodbye with four one-hour episodes, starting with this one that marks the return of Alan Alda. If you haven’t been watching, you’re missing Laura Linney give one of the richest and most touching performances ever seen on the small screen.

Monday

You’re set up to despise super-rich Jackie Siegel, the main subject of the 2012 film “The Queen of Versailles” (8 p.m., Bravo), but both she and this documentary are full of surprises, especially when the economy turns and threatens their dream of building the largest home in America.

Tuesday

Amanda Knox may possibly be headed back to an Italian prison, but not before she peddles a new memoir and sits down with Diane Sawyer for an “ABC News Primetime Special” (9:01 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5).

Wednesday

You can’t blame the rusty feel of “Family Tools” (7:30 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) on the fact that it’s been sitting on the ABC shelf for almost a year. The problem with the show is its formulaic approach to the dysfunctional family sitcom. That said, a cast consisting of J.K. Simmons, Leah Remini and Kyle Bornheimer is worth keeping an eye on.

Thursday

File this concept under The World Is Coming to an End: Vinny Guadagnino of “Jersey Shore” gets his own talk show, titled “Life With Vinny” (9 p.m., MTV). Celebrity guests like Mark Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy agree to be interviewed in Guadagnino’s home. Somewhere up there, Edward R. Murrow is shedding a tear.
