What a Wonder-ful world

“Stevie Wonder and Friends: UN Concert” (8 p.m. Saturday, Centric) finds Wonder, Sting, Freddie Jackson and Janelle Monae honoring the United Nations in song. Wonder does his part for world peace by promising to never, ever again play “Ebony and Ivory.”

That’s the spirit!

“Silver Linings Playbook” and “Moonrise Kingdom” lead the field with five nominations each for “The 2013 Independent Spirit Awards” (9 p.m. Saturday, IFC), the laid-back version of the Oscars. Host Andy Samberg uses the occasion to apologize for “That’s My Boy.”

The Oscar goes to ...

Just like the Super Bowl, “The 85th Annual Academy Awards” (7:30 p.m. Sunday, KSTP, Ch. 5) has become about more than just “The Big Show.” The festivities kick off with Ryan Seacrest and company broadcasting “Live From the Red Carpet” (4:30 p.m., E!) and “Oscars’ Red Carpet Live” (6 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) with Kristin Chenoweth and Kelly Rowland grilling their peers. For those with stamina, check out “Jimmy Kimmel Live After the Oscars” (roughly 11:05 p.m., depending on length of Oscars’ show, KSTP, Ch. 5), which always promises to be loaded with stars.

The list is life

Steven Spielberg takes a break from sweating about the Oscar chances for “Lincoln” to introduce the basic-cable premiere of “Schindler’s List” (7 p.m. Saturday, USA). It’s a commercial-free airing that coincides with the devastating film’s 20th anniversary.
