Burning questions

Boxers or briefs? Don't expect that question to get through the vetting process during "Ask Obama Live: An MTV Interview With the President" (4 p.m. Friday, MTV). To avoid embarrassing moments like the one Bill Clinton faced, correspondent Sway Calloway will pick and choose among written questions. The biggest drama may be whether Calloway removes his hat while in the White House.

Back from the dead

Networks usually bury failed pilots under an oak tree, but NBC is hoping to get back some of the $10 million it invested in "Mockingbird Lane" (7 p.m. Friday, KARE, Ch. 11) -- its reboot of "The Munsters" -- by airing the dead-on-arrival first episode. This will give fans a chance to decide for themselves whether pulling the plug on Jerry O'Connell's Herman Munster was a wise idea or a big mistake.

Golden opportunity

When George Wright and Scott Lomu lost everything in the 2008 real estate crash, they got an extreme case of "jungle fever." The adventures of these rookie gold miners are documented in the new series, "Jungle Gold" (9 p.m. Friday, Discovery), where a fortune (hopefully) awaits in dangerous parts of Ghana.

Back in the fight

After a week on the sidelines, Michonne the Zombie Killer returns to full action on "The Walking Dead" (8 p.m. Sunday, AMC), which has suddenly become the hottest show on TV. To learn more about Macalester College grad Danai Gurira, who plays the warrior, check out this Sunday's Variety section.
