"Modern Family," "The MIddle," " "Key & Peele"

Double the fun

Most of you don't need any encouragement to tune in for the season premiere of "Modern Family" (8 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5), so let me use this space to promote "The Middle" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5), a show that doesn't get the praise -- or viewers -- it deserves. The network demonstrates its support with a one-hour episode.

Reopening the 'Park'

Can you believe "South Park" (9 p.m., Comedy) debuted way back in 1997? The never-say-die animated series returns with seven new episodes and while the producers are always hush-hush about their targets, you can bet the house that the guys behind "The Book of Mormon" will pay some attention to Mitt Romney.

Being Barack

It took four years, but it seems like comedians are finally figuring out ways to poke fun at Barack Obama. Jay Pharoah has been impressive as the new Obama on "Saturday Night Live," and then there's "Key & Peele" (9:30 p.m., Comedy), who effectively send up Obama's anger management in their often hilarious sketch show that returns for a second season.
