Katee Sackhoff and Bailey Chase in “Longmire.”

Sunday

"Longmire" (9 p.m., A&E) is a crackling good contemporary western about a sheriff who carries a big stick -- and a big heart. If this new series does as well as History Channel's "Hatfields & McCoys," the most watched non-sports event ever on an ad-supported cable station, expect the TV landscape to start getting packed with dusty dramas. For more on "Longmire," turn to E3.

Monday

It's officially summer when Gordon Ramsay takes over the Fox network. The mean Ramsay is back in "Hell's Kitchen" (7 p.m., KMSP, Ch. 9), as is the kinder and gentler Ramsay in "Masterchef" (8 p.m. KMSP, Ch. 9), which includes the first blind cook to enter the competition.

Tuesday

Fastest way to endanger a friendship: Kill your buddy’s father. That’s the dilemma facing “Rizzoli & Isles” (8 p.m., TNT) as it returns for its third season. Throw in an internal-affairs investigation, and the show might get as messy as the Hatfields & McCoys.

Wednesday

Just how delicious is Tilia's Fish Taco Torta? Find out as it takes on 29 other contenders in "Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America" (8 p.m., Travel), a new series that debuts with back-to-back episodes featuring Pittsburgh's the Cap & Egg and New Orleans' Shrimp Po Boy.

Thursday

Next season's hot trend seems to be medical dramas. NBC is getting an early jump with "Saving Hope" (8 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11), in which a surgeon in a coma haunts the hospital halls as his girlfriend surgeon tries to save his life. Think "Ghost" meets "ER." Yeah, it's that stupid. Let's hope that the new fall batch is healthier than this effort.
