“Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” debuts on Nick.

Martial art

Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman are nowhere to be found -- er, heard -- in the new animated series, "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" (4:30 p.m. Nick), but Lucy Liu and Minnesotan James Hong reprise their voices as Viper and Mr. Ping, respectively. New episodes will air in this time slot the entire week, leaving our dear Panda completely out of breath.

Witches' brew

I don't care how long the wait is at the emergency room. I'm not going to respond to the title "The Witch Doctor Will See You Now" (9 p.m. NGC), a four-part series in which adventurer Piers Gibbon travels the world to see whether such practices as swallowing the still-beating heart of a freshly killed chicken can heal what ails you. Maybe it can, but I suspect you've then got a whole new batch of things to worry about.

Help them make it through the night

Joan Baez and Kris Kristofferson are incredible talents, but I can't imagine how the princess and the frog would sound together. We'll find out as they share the stage on "The Late Show With David Letterman" (10:35 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4). Not sure what they'll tackle, but they have previously collaborated on John Prine's "Hello in There."
