Emmy Awards: Between the trophies, a tribute to "Roots" and live performance from the Family Guy" cast. 7 p.m. today, KMSP, Ch. 9.

"The War": Ken Burns' epic documentary on World War II starts next Sunday. It's his best work to date, and that's saying something. 7 p.m. Sept. 23-26 and Sept. 30-Oct. 2, KTCA, Ch. 2.

"Dancing With the Stars": Entrepreneur Mark Cuban and Spice Girl Melanie Brown are among the new contestants tripping the light fantastic -- without, we hope, an emphasis on tripping. 7 p.m. Sept. 24, KSTP, Ch. 5.

"CSI": How did Jorja Fox's contract negotiations go? You'll find out when it's revealed whether her character, Sara, lived or died from last season's cliffhanger. 8 p.m. Sept. 27, WCCO, Ch. 4.

"Desperate Housewives": Dana Delany, once wooed to play the role of Bree, finally moves onto Wisteria Lane. 8 p.m. Sept. 30, KSTP, Ch. 5.

"Dexter": Last season ended with our favorite serial killer discovering that his brother was the Ice Truck Killer. Turns out that's just the start of his family issues. 8 p.m. Sept. 30, Showtime.

"30 Rock": Jerry Seinfeld stops by in an effort to draw more viewers to this gem of a sitcom. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4, KARE, Ch. 11.

"The Price Is Right": Drew Carey debuts as Bob Barker's replacement. 10 a.m. Oct. 15, WCCO, Ch. 4.

"American Masters": St. Paul's good ol' Charles Schulz gets a full-out tribute. 8 p.m. Oct. 29, KTCA, Ch. 2.

"Criminal Minds": Mandy who? Joe Mantegna moves into the headliner role, five episodes into the new season. 8 p.m. Oct. 30, WCCO, Ch. 4.

"Nip/Tuck": The cutting-edge series returns with luminaries such as Lauren Hutton and Oliver Platt going under the knife. 9 p.m. Oct. 30, FX.
