PARSONS DANCE

Friday-Saturday: The Cowles Center celebrates its new season with two big events, both centered around performances by New York’s Parsons Dance, led by David Parsons, a Paul Taylor Dance Company alum who has found international success on his own with choreographic contributions to many of the world’s top troupes. Audience members at the Cowles Grand Opening in 2011 will recall the stop-motion aerialism of “Caught,” one of Parsons’ best known works. Festivities are planned before and after the shows. (Friday’s “Raze the Barre” includes a 5:30 p.m. happy hour, 7 p.m. live auction, 7:50 p.m. Parsons Dance performance and 9 p.m. dance party, $100; Saturday’s “Gotta Dance” gala includes 5 p.m. cocktails, 6:30 p.m. dinner, 9:15 p.m. Parsons Dance performance, 10 p.m. champagne toast, $250. Cowles Center, 528 Hennepin Av., Mpls. 612-206-3600, www.thecowlescenter.org.)
