‘THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP’

Opening: The Jungle Theater revisits this sendup of Grand Guignol from Charles Ludlam. It’s a feast for actors, who play dozens of characters in various guises and generally have their run of the theater. Don’t kid yourself, though — this is meticulously timed, difficult work. Joel Sass directed the Jungle’s 2010 production with glorious aplomb. This time, he’s working with a returning Bradley Greenwald and Stephen Cartmell, who’s new (replacing Steve Epp). It’s hard to see how this one can miss. (8 p.m. Fri.-Sat. $25-$43. Ends Oct. 19. 2951 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. 612-822-7063, www.jungletheater.com.)
