PEER GYNT

Thursday: Theater departments at the University of Minnesota and Augsburg College are joining forces for the first time to produce Henrik Ibsen's classic play about a wanderer in search of life. Nearly 40 students are in the cast, and the production will take place outdoors at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The 90-minute show will travel along a quarter-mile section of trail at the arboretum. Electric vehicles will be provided for people with mobility concerns. Ibsen's play is a rich ragbag full of mythic creatures and original music. Luverne Seifert and Darcy Engen direct the show. (6 p.m. Thu.-Sat., noon & 3 p.m. Sat.-Sun., 3675 Arboretum Dr., Chanhassen, $12 admission fee to arboretum, www.augsburg.edu/theater.)

Opening: Joe Bozic and Mike Fotis are bringing sketch comedy back to 2605 Hennepin. If that address does not ring a bell, you need to read up on your history of the Brave New Workshop. For decades, the comedy troupe performed in that little band box. Since the Workshop moved world headquarters downtown, 2605 has hosted improv classes and student shows. Bozic and Fotis — known collectively as Ferrari McSpeedy — say they aren't competing with the home office, but they definitely want to get shows restarted in Uptown. "This place has a long and rich history and we want to bring that back," Fotis said. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat, ends April 26, 2605 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls., $10, 612-332-6620 or bravenewworkshop.com.)
