“Momentum:  New Dance Works”

MOMENTUM: NEW DANCE

Opening Thursday: Walker Art Center’s Momentum: New Dance Works series returns to the Southern Theater for its 10th installment. This weekend features SuperGroup (Jeffrey Wells, Sam Johnson and Erin Search-Wells) with playwright Rachel Jandrzejewski in “it’s all highly personal.” The troupe presented its fascinating “The Tent Has Been Pulled Down” at Red Eye Theater last year so expect another bold outing from these creative risk-takers. They share the evening with Leslie O’Neill, familiar to Zenon Dance Company fans, who will unveil the duet “Fortress” performed by Laura Selle Virtucio and Erika Hansen. It explores the nature of secrets in a piece sure to highlight her keen sense of the offbeat movement story line. The second weekend (July 18-20) highlights fresh efforts from Pramila Vasudevan and Jennifer Arave. (8 p.m. Thu.-Sat., $18-$20, Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Av. S., Mpls., 612-375-7600 or www.walkerart.org/tickets.)
