Opening: Playwright Sarah Ruhl subtitled her work "The Vibrator Play." Ruhl uses the advent of this sexual aid to explore intimacy and inhibitions -- and the shift in medical ideas that took place in the Victorian era. Christina Baldwin portrays a London house marm who investigates the strange buzzing noises coming from the nearby offices where a doctor (John Middleton) treats his patients.
