Opening benefit Saturday 12/17

Collage is pretty much ideal at holiday time when cards are in the mail and scraps of wrapping paper litter the floor, just waiting for some smart hand to turn them into art. For this fun show, guest curator Hannah Frick got a passel of artist pals to produce dozens of collages made from found objects, magazine clippings, photos, drawings and bits of this and that. Participating local stars include Beth Bowman, Allen Brewer, John Diebel, Jesse Draxler, Josie Lewis, Rob McBroom, Jessica Slagle, Ian Sorlie, Vanesa Windschitl, Hannah Frick and Jonas Criscoe. For the opening party, the artists have donated gift-wrapped artworks that will be sold sight unseen for $100. Proceeds will be donated to the Children's Cancer Research Fund, while partygoers keep the art.

When: Opening 6-9 p.m. Sat. 12/17. Show ends April 17.
