Hate the iPad because it's by Apple, and therefore nothing but fashion-driven tech with no real reason to live? Furious because you couldn't open it up, swap out the processor, upgrade the memory, install Ubuntu and force the iPod to convert everything to Ogg Vorbis as the default? You were waiting for the Courier, weren't you. This was the first Microsoft product - aside from Windows 7 - I was interested in, and it seemed to be a good challenge to the iPad's approach. A book, not a slate. The Courier was only a rumor, of course, but the Apple Haterz had their hopes high.
Good news: the Courier is a real product.
Bad news: it's been cancelled.
