Dec. 1-27: It's associate artistic director Dominic Taylor's turn to put his stamp on Penumbra Theatre's holiday staple. No matter who is in charge, the show has the same central ingredients: a heartwarming story (by Lou Bellamy and T. Mychael Rambo) about a recent widow who comes out of her doldrums with the help of a singing and dancing family; hymns, spirituals and gospel music, directed by Sanford Moore, and spirited dance, choreographed by Uri Sands. Ansa Akyea is shown. (7:30 p.m. Wed.-Sun. with 10 a.m. matinees on select Wednesdays, 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays and Dec. 24 and 26, and a 7:30 p.m. show Dec. 22. $38. Penumbra Theatre, Martin Luther King Center, 270 N. Kent St., St. Paul. 651-224-3180 or www.penumbratheatre.org.)
