Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 19-20: If you can't make it through the holiday season without a traditional "Nutcracker" fix, rest assured you will have plenty of sugary options. Those who long for a playful variation on the tale, however, should line up for Zenon Dance Company's inspired pairing of everyone's favorite nursery rhymes with Tchaikovsky's familiar score. Mother Goose is the star of the show, of course, but Wee Willie Winkie, Mary Quite Contrary and Little Bo Peep are all part of this rambunctious holiday romp, choreographed by Sean Curran with a story by Bruce Lansky and direction by Kay Cummings. (10 a.m. & 1 p.m. Dec. 12 and 19, 1 p.m. Dec. 13 and 20. $10-$18. Ritz Theater, 345 13th Av. NE., Mpls. www.ritzdolls.com or 612-436-1129.)
