Thursday: The late Martha Graham was a force of nature onstage and off, and throughout her influential career she choreographed works around formidable female figures. "Clytemnestra," now celebrating 50 years since its premiere, is a brutal psychodrama told from the perspective of the Queen of Mycenae. (Shown is Blakeley White-McGuire as Cassandra.) Graham often used old stories to reflect on modern issues such as religion and politics, lending a timeless quality to her legacy. The Martha Graham Dance Company (led by artistic director Janet Eilber) will perform the evening-length classic complete with set pieces by Graham's longtime collaborator Isamu Noguchi and music by Halim El-Dabh. (7:30 p.m. Thu. $33-$65. Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota, 84 SE. Church St., Mpls. 612-624-2345 or www.northrop.umn.edu.)
