Stage Spotlight: Room service

Last update: June 28, 2009 - 12:13 AM

ROOM SERVICE

Opening: A Times Square hotel room, desperate producers, starving actors -- oh, the high jinks! This 1930s screwball comedy was a Broadway success for writers John Murray and Allen Boretz. It's popular with community theaters for its humor and its large (14-member) cast. John Gaspard directs the production at Theatre in the Round, which opens Friday. Scott Kelly, Emily Dussault and Joel Raney are principal actors. (8 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. next Sun.; Theatre in the Round, 245 Cedar Av. S., Mpls.; $10-$20, 612-333-3010 or www.theatreinthe round.org)
