Spotlight: "Tony n' Timothy's Wedding"

Last update: June 13, 2009 - 10:32 PM

TONY N' TIMOTHY'S WEDDING

Wednesday-next Sunday: Actors Theater of Minnesota is not waiting for the state Legislature or Minnesota's courts to line up behind Iowa, New Hampshire or even former Vice President Dick Cheney in support of gay marriage. To mark the annual pride celebration, the company is giving "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," the campy, interactive classic that opened last weekend at the Mall of America, a gay twist. In this riff in downtown St. Paul, Tony (Tom Danford, right) ties the knot with Timothy (Doug Anderson) in a ceremony that takes place in Vinnie Black's Chapel of Love (375 Wabasha Av., St. Paul) and is followed by a buffet reception in the Lowry Theater (16 W. 5th St.). (7 p.m. Wed.-Fri., 5 & 8:30 p.m. Sat., 4 & 7:30 p.m. next Sun. $47.50-$69.50. 612-673-0404.)
