Operetta, bluegrass, classical guitar and a Twin Cities favorite have been secured for this year's Summer Concert Series at Plymouth Congregational Church.

The Tuesday concerts through the month of July are free and start at 7 p.m.

This week, Maria Jette, Lisa Drew, Jim Bohn, Sonja Thompson and Vern Sutton will throw a little light staging on some selections from the operetta repertoire. Sutton directs.

The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, with a repertoire ranging from Renaissance arrangements to newly commissioned works, performs July 13.

Moore by Four, the longtime vocal favorites, appear on July 20. Sanford Moore has for years served as musical director for singers Dennis Spears, Connie Evingson, Yolande Bruce and Ginger Commodore.

The series concludes July 27 with Monroe Crossing. Named for bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe, the group plays classic and traditional bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and original work.

All concerts in the series are at Plymouth Congregational Church, at the corner of W. Franklin and Nicollet Avenue S. in Minneapolis.
