TRANQUILITY AND ELOQUENCE

Thursday-Saturday: With its combination of melodies based on Gregorian chant and its French Impressionist harmonies, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem is a work of faith and tranquility. When the Minnesota Orchestra performs the piece this week, it eschews its long-term partners, the Minnesota Chorale, in favor of the St. Olaf Choir. Another highlight is the world premiere of a flute concerto by Manuel Sosa, written for the orchestra's principal flute, Adam Kuenzel, pictured. Sosa describes "Eloquentia" as "a prayer or meditation," making it a perfect complement to the Duruflé. (7:30 p.m. Thu., 8 p.m. Fri.-Sat. $26-$84.
