Dec. 14: You wouldn't expect the usual holiday fare from the always-adventurous Fleck (second from left) and his Flecktones. "Sleigh Ride" gallops in overdrive, like Flatt & Scruggs at the reins of the Klezmatics. The Vince Guaraldi favorite "Linus and Lucy" gets downright funky. At least, that's the way things sound on the Flecktones' 2008 yule CD, "Jingle All the Way." Reports on the banjo god's holiday tour of last year suggest three-hour shows featuring more than two dozen holiday chestnuts as well as some Fleck favorites in the jazz/bluegrass/rock/Tuvan/funk eclecticism that is the Flecktones.
