Prince is back in the house, and the public is invited.

The Minneapolis rock star, who has been seen around town more frequently in recent months after making Los Angeles his home for the past few years, announced that he will stage one of his now-rare late-night shows tonight at Paisley Park, his recording studio and home in Chanhassen.

He and his band will perform at 11 p.m. today, according to an e-mail sent to music critics late Friday afternoon.

Tickets ($40, cash only) will go on sale at 7 tonight at Paisley Park, 7801 Audubon Road, Chanhassen. There will be no on-site parking, other than handicapped spots. Concertgoers should park at the Southwest Village Metro Transit station at Hwy. 212 and County Road 101, where shuttle buses will carry them to Paisley Park.

The concert also will serve as a fundraiser for Prince's charity, Love 4 One Another. Fans are asked to bring new and gently-used coats and winter clothing, canned and boxed foods and bottled water, which will be distributed to those in need in the Twin Cities.
