TV ON THE RADIO Monday-Tuesday: Not a lot of bands nowadays make records or put on shows like this arty and innovative New York quintet does. In either format, the group -- which brazenly blends psychedelic rock with ambient soul, funky Afrobeat, frantic punk, you name it -- pays close attention to the pacing and flow of the music, resulting in a bigger overall experience than most CDs/concerts. That's especially true on "Dear Science," their third full-length and most refined collection so far, already a candidate for album-of-the-year in many hipster circles. The Dirtbombs, a soulful garage-punk band from Detroit, open both shows. (9 p.m. Mon. and 7 p.m. Tue., First Avenue, 701 1st Av. N., Mpls. $20. All ages on Tue.)
