Kat Perkins hoping for a "Landslide" victory on "The Voice"

After taking some lessons from the guy who sang “Teach Your Children,” Minneapolis singer Kat Perkins took to the NBC airwaves last night and delivered a passionate version of Stevie Nicks’ Fleetwood Mac ballad “Landslide” for her latest go-round on “The Voice.”

“This will be more of an exposed moment," Perkins said in the build-up to her performance, which included a one-on-one lesson with Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash fame. In addition to his usual warnings about doing coke with David Crosby (or so we’re guessing was said off screen), the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer advised her to be careful about hitting the low notes as well as the high notes in the tender 1975 song, which has also been famously covered by the likes of the Dixie Chicks and Smashing Pumpkins.

Afterward, Perkins earned more praise from the “Voice” coaches. Usher said, “You completely executed with precision." Her own coach, Adam Levine, got all mushy again, saying “You’re a blissfully perfect, amazing singer, and I'm so happy you're on my team."

Perkins’ recorded version of “Landslide” is now available on iTunes, which is one way of voting for her. Click here for other ways to vote. She finds out tonight if she will advance to the next round.
