Jonatha Brooke

‘My Mother Has Four Noses’

Monday-Tuesday: Acclaimed New York singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke wrote this one-woman musical about her late mother, who, afflicted with Alzheimer’s, lived with Brooke and her husband, Minneapolis-bred talent manager/producer Pat Raines, in their Manhattan apartment. The idea came from Brooke’s mom, a genuine drama queen who was a newspaper columnist, a poet and a clown. Brooke will make you laugh during the first act and cry during the closing act — especially if you’ve dealt with aging parents. This mother/child story is filled with humor, songs and poignancy. (7:30 p.m. Mon.-Tue., Guthrie Theater’s Dowling Studio, 818 S. 2nd St., Mpls., $22, 612-377-2224.)
