SLAYER

Friday: What could have been a relatively mournful affair has turned into a celebration for die-hard fans. The thrash-metal heroes’ first tour since co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman’s death in May from a rare skin disease has been recast as the “Old-School Slayer Tour,” per an announcement from the band last week. “We’re having such a great time rehearsing” the pre-1990 nuggets, surviving guitarist Kerry King, right, said in a statement, that the band decided to fill the set with them. Exodus’ Gary Holt, left, had already come aboard in 2011 to fill in for the ailing Hanneman and is staying put. Gojira and 4Arm open. (6:30 p.m. Fri. All ages, $39.50. Myth, 3090 Southlawn Dr., Maplewood. 651-779-6984, eTix.com.)
