STILLWATER MUSIC FESTIVAL

Thursday: Stillwater hosts stellar musicmaking at its annual summer festival centered around Brooklyn Rider, the Brooklyn-based string quartet. The group has not yet announced the new work it'll play, but there's plenty of drama in Bartok's String Quartet No. 2, especially in the furious dancing of its second movement. (You can hear it on the group's 2013 CD, "A Walking Fire.") Also on tap in the all-string-quartet program is Mozart's Quartet in D minor, K. 421. Following this show is a free family concert next Sunday and an Aug. 27 finale with special guests. (7:30 p.m. Thu. $10-$25. Washington County Courthouse, 101 W. Pine St., Stillwater. 651-587-3518, http://stillwatermusicfestival.com.)
