JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Country music singer Jason Brown is performing concerts to aid the nonprofit Farm Rescue organization.

The North Dakota-based nonprofit provides planting and harvesting help free of charge to farm families in the region stricken by a major illness, injury or disaster. Since 2006, the organization has helped more than 230 farm families in the Dakotas, Montana, Minnesota and Iowa.

Brown was born and raised in Iowa, and says it's an honor to team up with Farm Rescue.

His first benefit concert was scheduled Monday night in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Another is planned Aug. 23 in Barnesville, Minn. He also will play during Farm Rescue's annual banquet Nov. 1 in Bismarck, N.D.

Tickets for the Iowa and Minnesota concerts cost $7 apiece, or $5 apiece if bought in amounts greater than one.
