Friday: One of rock's greatest howlers, the frontman of the Animals is enjoying something of a revival. At last year's South by Southwest Music Conference, he drummed up a blogger buzz while performing with Jack White-affiliated rock band the Greenhornes (with whom he recently released a four-song EP) and earned mad props from keynote speaker Bruce Springsteen. "That's every song I've ever written," the Boss said of "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." With about 75 percent of his vocal power left at age 71 — that's saying a lot — he is getting into some out-of-the-way places on tour behind a new album for ABKCO Records, " 'Til the River Runs Dry," a bluesier set produced with his more regular backers. Extra incentive to go: The Lamont Cranston Band opens with Bruce McCabe in tow. (8:30 p.m. Fri. $31-$51. Medina Entertainment Center, 500 Hwy. 55, Medina. 763-478-6661.)
