[don't wipe out the space after the bullet!] Summary.
When she was 19, Melody Gardot was in a debilitating bicycle accident. A doctor suggested she return to singing and writing music as therapy. The 22-year-old singer/pianist/guitarist has released "Worrisome Heart," a collection of dusky pop-jazz originals that will appeal to fans of Norah Jones and Madeleine Peyroux. The title track is a sexy piano blues number that seduces with her elongated vocal phrasing. "Loves Me Like a River Does," the best of the 10 tunes, is a slow piano jazz piece full of earthly yearning and muted trumpet.
