Bob Dylan announced Wednesday that he will perform in November in the Twin Cities as part of a new round of fall concert dates that includes central Canada and many U.S. venues starting Oct. 5 in Winnipeg.

The 71-year-old Minnesota native who gave voice to the 1960s civil protest movement will be at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Nov. 7. Touring with him will be singer/guitarist Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Ticket information has yet to be released.

Previously announced were Dylan concerts in Sioux Falls on Aug. 18, Fargo on Aug. 19 and Rochester, Minn., on Aug. 21.

Dylan announced Tuesday that he's releasing his 35th studio album, "Tempest," on Sept. 11. It contains 10 new original Dylan songs. The producer is Jack Frost, one of Dylan's pseudonyms.

"Tempest" arrives 50 years after Dylan's self-titled debut was released on Columbia Records.
