Classics dominate favorite summer songs among listeners of a popular music-streaming service.

The classics are, um, classic for a reason.

In the latest iHeartRadio HeartBeat report, listeners of the Internet-based radio-streamer (www.iheart.com) voted on their favorite summer hit. And guess what? The oldies are still largely goodies.

That also was true of the listeners' favorite workout songs and favorite singer-turned-actor -- inspired by singer Rihanna's appearance in the new film "Battleship" -- in iHeart's monthly survey. Here are the results:

FAVORITE SUMMER HIT

1. "School's Out," by Alice Cooper.

2. "California Gurls," by Katy Perry.

3. "The Boys of Summer," by Don Henley.

4. "Surfin' USA," by the Beach Boys.

5. "Summer Love," by Justin Timberlake.

FAVORITE WORKOUT SONG

1. "Eye of the Tiger," by Survivor.

2. "Lose Yourself," by Eminem.

3. "Stronger," by Kanye West.

4. "Call Me Maybe," by Carly Rae Jepsen.

5. "We Found Love," by Rihanna, featuring Calvin Harris.

FAVORITE SINGER-ACTOR

1. Whitney Houston in "The Bodyguard."

2. Madonna in "A League of Their Own."

3. Eminem in "8 Mile."

4. Prince in "Purple Rain."

5. Justin Timberlake in "The Social Network."
